I have a testimony about many different parts of the Gospel. Today I would like to share what has been happening to me recently.

I am a single parent, raising 6 children ages 9-18. My husband left us 2 1/2 years ago because he felt he could no longer bear the responsibility of providing for a family. This, among many other reasons caused him to decide to leave and pretend he no longer had a family.

Enter the Lord. The Lord has taken over the care of my family, providing a job which we could all do together (so I would not be gone so much that the kids no longer felt they had a mom). I was a stay-at-home mom for 17 years. We are far from being rich, but our present situation is better than my husband was ever able to provide for us on a consistent basis.

Recently I went to the Lord with a desire in my heart. We had used up what little food storage I had been able to accumulate over the years, and it concerned me. I presented to the Lord my situation, and told Him what I would like to do to change it. I didn't just list the usual wheat and powdered milk, but I went beyond it to other areas of preparedness. Alternate sources for heat and power for short or long (Y2K?) term power outages. Food for a well rounded diet. I knew I would not be able to purchase these things without His divine help. I also knew that if the desire in my heart was just, He would help me to achieve it.

About 2 months ago I was in a minor car accident which has left me with some chiropractic care and about a thousand dollars to spend on my family's preparedness.

I have no doubt that the Lord listened to my prayers and allowed the accident to happen in order for my prayers to be answered. When I talk to Him about this incident, I receive a feeling of peace and comfort that I/we are being watched by Him and He is providing for our needs and desires through events that go on around us every day.

I never before would have thought of a car accident as an answer to my prayers, or that the Lord would work for my good though one. Now I see how He can work in our lives and cause good things to come out of situations that otherwise my not have been so good.

I feel the Lord's presence every day in my life. He truly does care for the "widows" and "fatherless".
