I stopped by Brookstone at Washington Square (Tigard, Oregon) and tried the Panasonic Swede-Atsu Wave Massage chair again; this time without the back pad in place to see if it can give a deep massage like the Panasonic Real Pro Elite. The massage was nice, but not deep. I think my wife would love it, but it does not compare with Real Pro Elite. Yesterday I was able to try a Neox massage chair and it was very nice. The only problem was the massage rollers never reached my neck, which is a common problem with other chairs. Not being able to massage my neck is a huge dissapointment, because my neck is a great source of pain. This should not be an issue for most users because my torso is very long. I told the researchers at OHSU the following in an email: "I'm excited you are interested in doing a study using massage chairs. I know Panasonic is not interested in pumping in a lot of money, but what if I could get several different massage chair manufactures or distributors/larger retailers such as Brookstone, or Relax the Back to participate? I just tried the Interactive Health RMS-10 massage chair and it was very nice, but the main problem is the track is not long enough for me. I think the back track is only 27 inches and I need 30. The rollers only came up to my shoulders and did not reach my neck at all. Otherwise this is a wonderful chair!

I've been phoning around trying to find different massage chairs and I found Relax the Back in Beaverton, Oregon carries several different chairs. Kellie and decided to go to their store and try some chairs. I tried their iJoy 130 massage chair though I thought it more a toy than a joy. Over the past several weeks my sleep has gone down hill considerably due to neck, shoulder, and back pain.
